Meet Erin

Cooking, crafting and recipe development are my passion. This blog is my corner of the internet to share what I love and help other people recreate my recipes, projects and ideas!

Erin’s Sunday Kitchen is where I share my own self-developed recipes, food finds, creative projects and kitchen experiments for you to try at home. I am one very hungry caterpillar, so I have lots of recipes and restaurants for you to try!

A little bit about Erin’s Sunday Kitchen

My Creative Side

I have never been a professional chef. I have just always loved making things. Cooking, crafting, recipe testing and building little ideas from scratch have always felt natural to me. I think I have always had an entrepreneurial side, and Erin’s Sunday Kitchen became the place where my love for creating, food and sharing ideas all came together.

Homemade Food, From Scratch

I grew up in a South African family and now live on the Gold Coast, Australia. Food has always been a big part of my life, and I grew up around great home cooks. My recipes are self-developed, tested from scratch and made for people who love proper homemade food, big flavour and trying something new.

Food Finds & Reviews

As you may know by now, I am a very adventurous eater and love discovering new dishes, food products and kitchen hacks. This space is not only for my own recipes, but also for sharing some awesome food finds. Be it my best Gold Coast restaurants, food products, equipment or my most awesome travel food experiences, you’ll find it here.

From meal prep to my recipe blog

Erin’s Sunday Kitchen started in 2023 as a small meal prep business from my apartment kitchen on the Gold Coast.

I would make hundreds of meals every week and deliver them around the city. By 2025, the business had grown enough for me to move into a commercial kitchen and work with a small team.

At one point, we were making over 250 fresh high-protein meals a week while I was also studying Occupational Therapy full-time at university.

As grateful as I was for the support, commercial meal prep became overwhelming and was not something I could keep doing in the way I wanted while studying. I realised the part I loved most was always the recipe development, so this blog is now my space to keep creating and sharing that work as I complete my studies.
